Struggling to Replace Equipment Parts? We Have the Solution!

Consider this remarkable piece of equipment designed and built in the early 1980s in South Australia. Operating continuously for decades in one of the remotest parts along the Murray River, this equipment, driven by a single geared motor from Renold Limited, travels along a track at 12 meters per minute. It completes its journey in just 7 minutes, deploying fork arms that descend to the bottom of a tank to pump out sediment carried by the river.

Removing sediment is a crucial first step in purifying water before it is pumped into the main water system for public consumption.

However, due to wear and fatigue, the original mechanical clutch system, built with a conical spring, has weakened, failing to transfer the necessary torque. Sourcing components for the drive system has also become increasingly difficult.

Levitate Lifting was engaged by a partner in South Australia to assist their end-user in finding suitable replacements for the clutch mechanism and drive system. Our engineers visited the remote site, collected all necessary measurements and information, and provided a solution incorporating a modern clutch system sourced from Germany and a SEW drive system within four working weeks.

Our partner in South Australia integrated the new system in just 1.5 days, including final testing and commissioning.

If you need assistance in modernizing your equipment, you are in the right place. We are just a phone call away.

Thank you for reading, and have a great day!
